What Is Mūnbeibī?

Pronounced "Moon Baby", it is an original Kaiju centric science fiction comic series by Larry Holder and interior artist Carlos Rodriguez.

What's It About?

To put it simply, Mūnbeibī will focus on hard astro-sciences, mixed with supernatural giant monsters and good helping of action and body horror, all set within a 1960s/1970s pulp sci-fi aesthetic.

Prologue:

In the Second Millenium AD, Humanity finally begins to step away from Earth and claim dominance of the inner solar system.

As mining begins on the Moon, discovery of a new rare material in its north polar region sparks a new age of rapid technological development.

A near indestructible, lightweight element that defies relativity, Substance Alpha.

Its most common use comes in the development of space faring technology. Particularly in the development of pressure suits that form fit the wearer for easy movement, easy to manipulate metals for fast construction and innovative medical technology.

Substance Alpha has a conductive and inductive energy potential that exceeds all Earth based material by a factor of 10, leading to new propulsion and information transmission technology.

As Humanity stations itself on Mars and around Venus and mines the distant Asteroid Belt, some look outward even further. Dreaming of all the other possibilities in the depths of the system, just waiting to be found…
